King David had a very wise son named Solomon. Before David went to heaven, God made him a promise: his son would build a very special house for Him, a place for all the people to worship God.

When Solomon became king, he remembered this important mission. With a heart full of joy, he prepared to build the Temple of the Lord, the most beautiful house the world had ever seen.
